Cannon Beach Photoshoot, Oregon Coast

When I did this photoshoot with Hannah at Cannon Beach, little did I know this photo would be one that would be accepted onto the shortlist for the London Sony World Photography Awards!

Doing this photoshoot with Hannah, my sister, was just a fun little shoot we threw together after we found this top from Target and were in love with it. We call her “character” from this shoot, “Sally”. I always like to give her different names for each shoot she does with me, depending on the concept.

This photo is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken and will be forever now. The sunglasses, the cigarette, the high-waisted bottoms with the puff sleeve top, the platinum blonde hair, the eye squint. Hannah was perfect!

These two photos are so cute and they remind me of the 1950s-1960s. I love pairing these two photos together because it shows her poses from one photo to the next; how she really was moving in real life as I clicked the shutter, almost like an animated photograph.

This photo is so adorable. I feel like I captured the fast-moving pace of this photoshoot in this photo, as well as simply just what a day at the beach might be like: running around, feeling the wind coming off the waves and whipping your hair around your face, and feeling the excitement from the beautiful scenery around you.

This shoot also reminds me of a movie set in the 1950s and Hannah's being followed around the beach by her lover, snapping candid shots of her on their film camera.

This photo is a classic one. It would be great as a print. Cannon Beach was so much fun for this photoshoot, although, I didn’t get much of the actual famous landscape of it in any of the photos. Still, this beach is really fun and beautiful if you’re wanting stunning views and don’t mind other tourists staring at you during the photoshoot. It would be a great location for a shoot if you’re wanting the look of tourists around in your photos for a portrait shoot or for some cool landscape tourist photos.
